Captain Action Enterprises and Round 2, LCC have announced plans for a new toy line featuring the world’s first superhero action figure, Captain Action. Like the classic toy of the 1960s, this new line will feature 12” action figures and popular super hero costumes. The new line will be designed to appeal to passionate collectors, as well as new fans and young kids and will be available at Toys”R”Us, specialty stores and online. This new version looks a bit 'beefier' than previous releases, and the face sculpt is a bit different too.
There are also negotiations to produce a variety of super-hero costumes for Captain Action to change into, a staple of the iconic hero. Back in the 60's, Captain Action could also become the Phantom, Superman, Batman, the Green Hornet, Captain America, and a host of others.
I have the Playing Mantis versions of Captain Action, Kid Action (Action Boy) and Dr. Evil from the 80's in my collection; here's hoping this version lasts a bit longer on the you shelves.
