Ridley Scott Returns To Blade Runner

Three-time Oscar-nominated director Ridley Scott is set to helm a follow up to 1982’s Blade Runner, which he also directed, Alcon Entertainment has announced. The production and financing firm, based at Warner Bros., has most recently produced The Blind Side, and The Book of Eli. The filmmakers have not yet revealed whether the theatrical project will be a prequel or sequel to the original.

Released by Warner Bros. almost 30 years ago, Blade Runner was adapted by Hampton Fancher and David Peoples from Philip K. Dick's groundbreaking novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? The novel has recently been turned into an illustrated novel by BOOM! Studios.

Naming the International Space Station

Now that it's finished, the International Space Station needs one more thing: a name. For years, NASA officials have simply called it 'ISS', or, 'the station.' But now that the 15 year, $100 billion project is complete, many space program fans are suggesting that the main countries who support the station, namely the United States, Russia, Canada, Europe, and Japan, get together and come up with an official moniker.

During the first mission to the station, Expedition 1, NASA astronaut Bill Shepard nicknamed the station 'Alpha', and it's been used informally during subsequent missions. Personally, I like Alpha, but that name should really be saved for the first permanent Moon base.
