
Johnson wrote stories and scripts for dozens of movies and TV shows, in addition to that famous first episode of Star Trek, “The Man Trap.” He was born in 1929 in Cheyenne, Wyoming and served in the army before he became a writer.
He co-wrote the novel Logan’s Run, wrote eight episodes of The Twilight Zone plus a segment in Twilight Zone: The Movie, and he wrote the original story and script for Ocean’s 11. His first writing credit was for the Alfred Hitchcock Presents episode “I’ll Take Care of You.” He wrote for Route 66, The Law and Mr. Jones, Mr. Novak, Honey West, and Kung Fu. Johnson’s latest project was the short The Jungle of Jules Levine.
In addition to scripts, he also wrote essays, poems, short stories, and more. He was a member of the Southern California School of Writers and was a welcome guest meeting fans at conventions.
